Montana's 69th legislative session has begun.
Together, we ensure quality access to library resources for everyone.
The Montana Library Association is the unified force of over 600 librarians, retired librarians, trustees, friend of libraries and library students. Bound by the love and deep understanding of the role libraries play in our quality of life, The Montana Library Association works with the Montana State Library to offer programs, educational opportunities, promotions and other services for the benefit of every library in Montana.
Our mission &
what we do.
The mission of the Montana Library Association is to develop, promote, and improve library and information services and the profession of librarianship in order to enhance learning and ensure access to information for all.
We engage with policymakers and legislators to secure funding and support for library initiatives, ensuring that every community has access to quality library services.
We facilitate collaboration among libraries to enhance resource sharing, improve access to digital materials, and create a network of support for all library users.
We provide training, workshops, and resources for library professionals to enhance their skills and adapt to the evolving needs of their communities.
We educate the public about the invaluable role libraries play in promoting literacy, education, and cultural enrichment, while also advocating for the preservation of Montana's heritage.
Don't just take it from us. Hear what your fellow Montanans are saying.
“My family and I are faithful users of our local library. As my children have grown and our needs have changed, our library has always been there. From story times and summer reading programs when my children were young to borrowing books, movies, and downloadable materials as they’ve grown, the library’s resources have remained a constant part of our lives.”
Kelly Berkram
“The library has always been a favorite spot for my kids. From the excitement of picking out new books and audiobooks to joining fun programs and activities, it’s been a place where their love of reading and learning has really flourished.”
Mike Jones
“As a small business owner, I can’t say enough good things about our local library. Whether I need a quiet spot to catch up on work, do some research, or just a break, the library’s always there. It’s been such a helpful resource for both my business and my day-to-day life.”
