The Montana Library Association (MLA) engages people through many digital outlets, including our website(s) and social media channels. Communicating with MLA through social media further enables the public to contact MLA in a direct and meaningful way.
Please be aware that when engaging with MLA through social media, you are agreeing to the following:
Commenting on a MLA Social Media Site
MLA shares information, images and video with the public through external social media sites. Comments made by the public to these sites are reviewed and, while comments will not be edited by MLA, a comment may be deleted if it violates the comment policy described here.
- Comments should be related to the posted topic for MLA’s social media page or post. MLA social media accounts are not meant for comments that do not directly relate to the purpose or topic of the social media website.
- You are subject to the Terms of Service (TOS) of the host site. Information (photos, videos, etc.) you share with or post to official MLA pages is subject to the TOS of the host site and may be used by the owners of the host site for their own purposes. For more information, consult the host website’s TOS.
- MLA social media accounts are not open to comments promoting or opposing any person campaigning for election to a political office, or promotion or advertisement of a business or commercial transaction.
- The use of obscene, threatening or harassing language is prohibited.
- Personal attacks of any kind or offensive comments that target or disparage any ethnic, racial, age, or religious group, gender, sexual orientation or disability status or any other protected class are prohibited.
- Comments advocating illegal activity or posting of material that violates copyrights or trademarks of others are prohibited.
- User-Created Content If you submit comments, photos and other content to us (“User Content”) through the Website, social media communities, survey responses, email or otherwise, You grant us an irrevocable, royalty-free, perpetual, transferable, license to use, modify, create derivative works from, publish, display and sublicense
User Content, in whole or in part, in any format and on any platform either now known or hereinafter invented, and to associate User Content with your name and/or likeness. You are solely responsible for your User Content. You represent that you have the right to submit User Content to us and the right to grant us the license described above. You warrant that User Content, and our use thereof, does not and will not infringe any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other intellectual or proprietary or privacy right of any party or individual.
